1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Rate my Roast (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rate my Roast ("we", "our", "us"). We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use Rate my Roast.
• If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account password.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must not share your account credentials with others.
• One person may not maintain more than one active account.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Content Guidelines

When posting on Rate my Roast, you agree to:

• Only post photos of food that you have taken yourself or have explicit permission to use.
• Not post content that is abusive, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Not post spam, misleading content, or impersonate other individuals or entities.
• Provide honest and fair ratings and reviews.
• Not use the platform for commercial advertising or promotion without prior written permission.
• Not post content that infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights.

5. Ratings & Reviews

• Ratings should reflect your genuine opinion of the roast dinner being reviewed.
• Manipulating ratings through fake accounts, coordinated behaviour, or bribery is strictly prohibited.
• We may remove ratings that we reasonably determine to be fraudulent, abusive, or in violation of these Terms.
• Rating categories (meat, potatoes, Yorkshires, gravy, veg, presentation) should each be scored honestly and independently.

6. Intellectual Property

• Your Content: You retain full ownership of the content you post on Rate my Roast.
• Licence to Us: By posting content, you grant Rate my Roast a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your content within the Service and for marketing purposes.
• Our Property: The Rate my Roast name, logo, app design, branding, and all associated trademarks are our intellectual property and may not be used without our prior written permission.
• Removal: If you delete your content or your account, we will remove your content from the Service. Content that has been shared, cached, or indexed by others may persist outside our control.

7. Privacy

Your use of Rate my Roast is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Prohibited Behaviour

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service.
• Upload viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
• Harass, bully, or intimidate other users.
• Circumvent any security features, rate limiting, or access controls.

9. Reporting & Moderation

• You can report posts that violate these Terms using the in-app report feature.
• We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include content removal or account suspension.
• We are not obligated to monitor all content but reserve the right to do so.
• Decisions regarding content moderation are made at our sole discretion.

10. Challenges & Competitions

Rate my Roast may host cooking challenges and competitions from time to time. Additional rules may apply to specific challenges and will be communicated within the app. General challenge rules:

• Entries must be original and created by you.
• One entry per person per challenge, unless otherwise stated.
• We reserve the right to disqualify entries that violate these Terms.

11. Service Availability

• We strive to keep Rate my Roast available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
• We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect the Service.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire Service at any time, with or without notice.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• Rate my Roast is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of ratings, reviews, or content posted by other users.
• Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Rate my Roast, its owners, employees, and affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

• By You: You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data from our servers.
• By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
• Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Intellectual Property).

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
